FAQs

Who is Luminosity for?

Luminosity is for young people aged 11-18 and is open to all New Wine family and friends.

Where is Luminosity happening?

At the East of England Showground in Peterborough: Oundle Rd, Peterborough, PE2 6XE.

How long is the event?

Luminosity is a 7-day programme, starting with an evening session on Saturday (Week 1) or Sunday (Week 2). We finish on Friday (Week 1) or Saturday (Week 2). This fits in with the United programme so also allows families and churches time to get together.

How will it work with United 20?

United 20 is the New Wine summer gathering of church families. Luminosity will run concurrently with United 20 on the same site, but will have its own programme and will be managed and co-ordinated by the Luminosity youth ministry team. Young people and youth leaders will be able to camp within the designated Luminosity Camping Village, or with parents who are attending United 20.

Can over-18s attend Luminosity?

Adults (including parents of those attending) wanting to accompany youth to Luminosity must be verified by a Church Leader and hold a valid DBS. Download the Verification Form for further details. DOWNLOAD the Verification Form for further details. We have also created a template parental consent form that Designated Youth Leaders may find helpful; you’ll need to insert details relating to your group: Download consent form for Week One Download consent form for Week Two

What’s happening to Club One and Thirst?

Club One and Thirst no longer exist. The great work of New Wine Youth will continue, but our new venues will be ‘Luminosity West’ for school years 7 & 8 (age 11-13) and ‘Luminosity East’ for school years 9-13 (aged 14-18).

What are the camping arrangements?

There will be a separate Luminosity Camping Village open to 11-18s camping with their youth leaders (one youth leader to every 6 young people). Alternatively, 11-18s can camp with their parents/church group/youth leader on the main United 20 campsite and gain full access to Luminosity.

What’s the role of youth leaders in the Luminosity Camping Village?

Within the youth campsite, youth leaders will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of their youth group’s needs, including camping, catering and well-being. I'm booking my family into United, do I need to make a separate booking for my youth delegate?

No. Any 11-18s on the booking will automatically be added as Luminosity delegates and will have full access to the Luminosity venues. Youth wanting to camp separately in the Luminosity Camping Village will need to be booked in via the Luminosity website by a youth leader.

As a youth leader, can my family (including my children) stay with me in the Luminosity Camping Village?

Yes, as long as one or both parents are youth leaders. Children can access their United children’s group as usual.

Is it possible for a youth delegate to attend Luminosity with a church they don't attend?

Yes. Youth leaders over the age of 21 years can add any youth delegate to their Luminosity booking.

Can a youth delegate under 18 camp alone in the Luminosity Camping Village?

No. All youth delegates must be part of a group booked in by a youth leader.

Can youth delegates with accessibility requirements and/or additional needs camp in the Luminosity Camping Village?

We will do all we can to make this possible. During the booking process, the youth leader has the option to state the nature of any accessibility requirements and/or complete an additional needs form. Once received, our Accessible Church team will be in contact to discuss requirements. Receiving this information early helps us offer the best provision possible.

If I’m aged 11-18 but serving on Team at United can I still go to the Luminosity venues?

Yes, you can access Luminosity outside of the times you are required on Team and will be given the correct wristband.

What is the Team offer?

Youth serving on Team for one week of United or Luminosity can receive a 25% discount on a Luminosity delegate ticket for the other week.

Will the young people be safe?

Keeping the young people safe is our highest priority. We have experienced safeguarding professionals working on the team to ensure the right structures and appropriate processes are in place for this.
